Cookies are small text files placed on your device (computer, phone, or tablet) when you visit a website. They allow the website to remember information about your visit — such as whether you are logged in — making your next visit easier and the site more useful to you.
Cookies can be session cookies (deleted when you close your browser) or persistent cookies (stored on your device for a set period). They can also be set by the website you are visiting (first-party cookies) or by third-party services embedded in the site (third-party cookies).
Similar technologies such as local storage, session storage, and pixel tags serve comparable functions and are also covered by this policy.
SafePinQR uses a minimal set of cookies. We have designed our service to operate with only those cookies that are strictly necessary or functionally required to deliver the service.
No advertising cookies. No cross-site tracking cookies. No third-party analytics cookies. We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any similar tracking technologies.
SafePinQR explicitly does not use:
Our use of cookies is governed by the applicable privacy and electronic communications laws in each jurisdiction we serve.
If we ever add non-essential cookies (such as analytics or performance cookies), we will update this policy, present a cookie consent banner, and obtain your explicit consent before placing those cookies — as required under Canadian and applicable U.S. state law.
Because SafePinQR currently uses only essential and functional cookies — those strictly necessary to deliver the service — we rely on the implied consent that flows from your active use of the site and account creation.
Essential cookies cannot be disabled without breaking the service. By creating a SafePinQR account and logging in, you consent to the placement of these necessary cookies on your device.
We do not present a cookie consent banner at this time because we have no non-essential cookies that would require one. Should that change, we will implement a proper consent mechanism before deploying any such cookies.
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to view, block, and delete cookies. Instructions for the most common browsers are below.
Important: Blocking or deleting essential session cookies will prevent you from staying logged in and may break core features of SafePinQR including account access, the registration flow, and dashboard functionality.
SafePinQR integrates with the following third-party services that may set their own cookies or use similar storage technologies when you interact with them:
Supabase manages user authentication and sets session tokens in your browser. These are first-party cookies scoped to safepinqr.com and are essential for maintaining your login state. See Supabase's Privacy Policy.
When you proceed to Stripe's checkout page to complete a payment, you are redirected to Stripe's domain (buy.stripe.com). Stripe may place its own cookies on your device for fraud prevention and security purposes. These are governed by Stripe's Privacy Policy. SafePinQR has no control over Stripe's cookies.
We use the api.qrserver.com API to generate QR code images. This is a server-side image generation call; it does not place cookies on your device.
We do not embed any advertising networks, social media widgets, or analytics platforms that would set third-party tracking cookies on your device.
Some browsers offer a "Do Not Track" (DNT) signal that you can enable to request that websites not track your browsing activity. There is currently no industry-wide standard for how websites must respond to DNT signals.
Because SafePinQR does not use cross-site tracking cookies or behavioural advertising technologies, your browsing experience on our site is effectively the same whether DNT is enabled or not. We honour the intent of DNT by design.
Cookies set by SafePinQR are retained only as long as necessary:
We do not set long-lived persistent tracking cookies. We do not use cookies to build profiles of your browsing behaviour across sessions.
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or applicable law. When we do, we will revise the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page.
If we introduce any new non-essential cookies, we will notify registered users by email and present a consent mechanism before deploying those cookies.
Your continued use of SafePinQR after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
